History[edit]

Formation (2013-2015)[edit]

After leaving Escape The Fate,[1] Monte and his brother Michael started a new solo project called Money Brothers.[2] They released 2 singles 'Break Free' was released In October 2013,[3] and 'Clarity (Behind the Curtain)' in February 2014.[4]

The Money's revealed 'Money Brothers' would be put on hold indefinitely to focus on a new project.[5] 'Beyond Unbroken'[6] was created shortly after joined by Daimen Horrell as the official bassist, and Matti Hoffman as the official lead guitarist.

Dont Wake the Dead (2015-2018)[edit]

On October 30, 2015, their first single titled 'Under Your Skin' was released.[7]

On February 22, 2016, the single 'Dont Wake the Dead' was released.[8] In “Don't Wake the Dead,” the lyrics “fuck your fate” could be read as an insult to Escape the Fate. However, Monte says that's not the case. “The song lyric has nothing to do toward the Escape the Fate band. That lyric in that particular song means fate is irrelevant to those who strongly believe in 'destiny,'” he says. Music Junkie noted its 'powerful vocals'.[9]

On March 30th 2016, The band released their first music video for the single 'Losing My Mind' debuting on Alternative Press.[10] The video's concept directs around the meaning of the song, says lead vocalist Monte Money. “The black and white frames in the beginning depict the normal everyday routine that we all go through,” he says. “As the song progresses, you see us covered in blood, which means we were hitting our breaking point and losing our minds.”

Monte and his brother Michael left Escape the Fate toward the end of 2013.[11]

“After a great decade in the band and working with the guys, I just felt like I wanted to start a new journey and explore a new musical path. I will always love what we've created and all of the crazy fun times the guys and I had,”

Monte shares. “There was never ill will toward the guys, but it did kind of feel like I was breaking up with my girlfriend. And everyone knows a break up is never an easy thing.”

The band's debut show will be on June 22 at The Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California.“If the fans come and watch us in June, they just might catch us [playing] a #WayBackWednesday old Escape the Fate song,” says Monte. “We are also planning on releasing our album later this year.”

On August 29th 2017, after over a year after the release of 'Losing My Mind' the band released a new single entitled 'Overdose' accompanied by an animated video. Once again debuting on Alternative Press as an exclusive.[12]“The song is about my journey through music: Growing up as a kid, wanting to be a musician, but people always tearing that dream down. [Wanting me] to just conform to society stuck ata job that you hate because your dreams can never be a reality,” Monte Money explains.

“In the song, I'm basically telling everyone I'm gonna do what I want, if you believe in me or not. Also, there’s a part in the song where I explain my journey from Escape the Fate to where I am now. How I'm always chasing my dreams and will never give up.

”Not to mention, this video is as much of a passion project for the band, too. They originally wanted to produce alive action video, but instead, the animated video helped truly make the song come to life.

With the release of the video it was also announced Matti Hoffman had left the band as a full time member to pursue other musical endeavors, but would be joining the band for their 'Blackout The Sun Tour'.[13] It was also announced Cam Daly would be joining the band as the official drummer.

Finally after much delay on September 1, 2017. the band's six track EP 'Don't Wake The Dead' was released. The EP includes the four previous released singles as well as two brand new songs. All songs were produced by Matt Good of From First to Last.[14]

On August 17, 2018. the band released their final video off the 'Don't Wake The Dead' EP for the song 'Memories'..[15] It was announced that Cam Daly left the band on mutual terms. The band also announced they will be under new management as well as working on new material that will 'hopefully be later in the year.'

At the end of 2019, Daimen left the group then after was removed from all of the band's social media, as well as removing his affiliation from the band on his page.

One of the highlights of my day is checking the mail when I get home. Sometimes I will even call home from work to check in with my wife. I'll ask her how her day is going, how are the kids, did I get any packages in the mail?

Inside the record mailer sitting on the kitchen table was the Unbroken discography triple lp set.

This record was released exclusively at the Burning Fight shows in Chicago and LA. The Chicago show was the reunion of Unbroken that lots of 90's hardcore folks were very excited about. Me included. The show sold out really fast with people coming from around the world. I heard this record sold out pretty fast too. People at the shows were hard pressed to get one, if they got one at all.Torrent
500 have been pressed in total to this point. I read on some message board that it will be repressed and made readily available for everyone. Of course, I am way too impatient and got this in a private B9 board deal where I probably overpaid.

The album comes as a tri-fold and contains the albums 'Life. Love. Regret.', 'Ritual' and 'It's Getting Harder To Say The Right Things' (which is a compilation of 7 inch songs, splits and comps)

The vinyl is white for 'Life.Love. Regret.' , grey for 'It's Getting Tougher...' , and white/grey split for 'Ritual'.

The cover is as you can see from the pictures a very sparse outlay and asthetically looks a lot like the old Factory Records, Joy Division releases. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but it works for me. Come to think of it a 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' cover is on this and was originally on the split 7' with Abhinanda, so I'm sure they were down with Ian Curtis and crew.

Hopefully everyone will be able to get their hands on this soon. Indecision Records works in mysterious ways. Kind of like when they released the Undertow 'Everything' discography on vinyl a couple months ago - five years after the cd. Kooky.
